Homage to Howlin' Wolf
by Gerson Fonseca
(Monstruation Crew)
2nd & Delta Ave.

Gerson is from Colombia and is known for painting cultural and social references as monstrous and/or cartoonish characters - in this case one of his favorite blues musicians, the wolf with the harmonica in its mouth. He paints almost entirely freehand with aerosol cans.

Woman of Rock
by Erre
2nd and Delta

Erre is from Colombia and is known for her subtle - and occasionally not so subtle - comments on social issues ranging from women's rights to migration, the environment and war and peace. In this case a strong looking young woman with a guitar comments on the still too often secondary role that women are relegated to in the music world, in spite of there being many strong, talented female musicians. Erre is known for her bright colors and images that pop which she creates with stencils and rollers and brushes for the backgrounds.

Cottonfield 30's Style Cartoon
Cartoon music of the Delta
by Likmi Soberana
111 E 2nd St

Above Hambone Gallery on the back wall of the Auberge Hostal, best viewed from the entrance to the alley across across the street

The artist is from Colombia and loves the cartoons of the 1920s and ‘30s, especially the ones that involve old blues and jazz music. This is her take on one of those cartoons. The technique she uses is to make a drawing, scan it into a computer, then project it onto the wall at night so as to draw the outline that she then fills in freehand with a mix of spray paint and latex with brushes and rollers.
